The growth abilities of the tissues three-dimensionally cultured in TGP gel were assessed by WST-8 assay (absorbance at 450 nm; see Materials and Methods) after the culture. (A) Comparison of the growth abilities between breast cancer tissues (n = 21) and normal breast tissues (n = 9). No significant difference was observed as analyzed by Wilcoxon signed rank test (P = 0.3125). (B) Comparison between cancer tissues from patients treated by chemotherapy (n = 6) and those from patients who were not treated by chemotherapy (n = 15).
