Quantitative comparison of the lamina I neuronal populations immunoreactive for the NK-1r (NK-1 only), retrogradely labeled from the parabrachial nucleus (CTb only) or double labeled (NK-1 + CTb), on the ipsilateral side of IB4-saporin-injected or sham group at 21 days. There were no changes in the number of fusiform, multipolar, or pyramidal neurons immunoreactive for one or both of the markers when comparing IB4-saporin-injected to sham group.
