Fibre discontinuities can trap a meandering rotor. Rotors drifting across the posterior right atrium were ‘pulled’ to the fibre discontinuity at the crista terminalis. (A) A couter-clockwise rotor became trapped by the fibre discontinuity for ∼2000 ms before precessing inferiorly along the crista terminalis. (B) A clockwise rotor became trapped by the fibre discontinuity and remained there for the remainder of the five-second simulation.
