Slit-lamp photographs of the left eye of a 68-year-old female with short breakup time type dry eye with Sjögren's syndrome (SS). (a) The spot breakup pattern was simultaneously observed on the cornea when opening the eye before the start of the diquafosol administration (baseline). The spot breakup pattern had disappeared and the corneal epithelial staining was improved by the treatment with 3% diquafosol ophthalmic solution at 3, 6, and 12 months (b, c, and d, respectively) post treatment.
