In the presence of PDE inhibitor IBMX (500 μM), glucose (8.3 mM)-induced cAMP production in isolated islets from wild-type mice was inhibited by ghrelin (10 nM). Ghrelin failed to suppress 8.3 mM glucose-induced cAMP production in isolated islets from GHSR-null mice. Noradrenaline (NA) (1 μM) strongly suppressed the cAMP production in both groups of islets (n = 6 tubes of batch incubation). *P < 0.05; **P < 0.01.
