Assembly of A. oris type 2 fimbriae requires putative thiol-oxidoreductases VKOR and MdbA. A, cell fractionation on the parental strain MG-1 and its conditional deletion mdbA strain grown in the presence or absence of arabinose were performed. Protein samples collected from culture (S), cell wall (W), membrane (M), and cytoplasmic (C) fractions were immunoblotted with α-MdbA.
