BSO induces peritoneal macrophage and kidney CD36 protein expression in vivo. ApoE−/− mice (3 mice in each group) were fed normal chow or normal chow plus BSO (50 mg/100 g of food) for 1 week. At the end of experiment, peritoneal macrophages and kidneys were collected from each mouse separately and used to extract total cellular protein for determination of CD36 protein expression. A piece of kidney and a portion of peritoneal macrophages were also used to determine GSH contents, and the results were presented at the bottom of each image. *, p < 0.05 (n = 3).
