Primary pAECs (A) or immortalized pAECs (B) were incubated with H1N1 IL/08 (red), pH1N1 CA/09 (green) or mock virus preparation (black) at an MOI of 50 for 90 min on ice. Cells were washed either with cold DMEM (solid lines) or acid glycine buffer (dotted lines). Surface bound virus was analyzed by flowcytometry using anti-NP monoclonal antibody followed by Alexa Fluor 647 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG2a. Data are representative of three independent experiments.
