Each rat was fed a HFD for 4 weeks and then received an i.p. injection of either gAd (0.4 μg (g body wt)⁻¹) or saline followed by a 2 h euglycaemic hyperinsulinaemic clamp (3 mU kg⁻¹ min⁻¹) in the absence or presence of Compound C pretreatment (i.p. 10 μg (g body wt)⁻¹) or l-NAME infusion.
