Possible effects of EdAG on the Glutathiome. EdAG could alter the glutathiome directly by inhibiting Grx’s, as shown by the results presented here or, hypothetically, by inhibiting Trx’s. In addition EdAG could form irreversible adducts with cys residues on proteins that are normally activated or inhibited by glutathionylation. Adduction by EdAG could either activate or inhibit such proteins.
