(B) Monolayers of ARPE19 cells were infected with VZV_LUC, 30R, Δ30L, 30-IXAla, 30-620A, or 30-622A. Cells were harvested at 24 h postinfection. Total infected cell DNA was digested with BamHI, fractionated by agarose gel electrophoresis, and analyzed by Southern blotting with a probe that specifically hybridized to the long terminal repeat (TRL). DNA fragments representing uncleaved DNA (2.8 kb) and the TRL fragment (0.9 kb) are indicated.
