Groups of rats were maintained on a chow-diet or HFrD for 8 weeks and, subsequently, HFrD were divided into two groups: one was orally gavaged with NDGA at a dose of 125 mg/kg BW twice a day for 5 days and the other group received vehicle (control). Freshly excised liver samples were processed for the measurement of total, mitochondrial and peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation rates. Values are mean ± SE. * P<0.05; ** P<0.01; *** P<0.001.
