CMCase activity (µmol reducing sugar released in a 10-min reaction) of His-tagged GH9, mixed either with CBM3cL (diamonds) or CBM3cNL (squares), was examined. A fixed amount (70 pmol) of the GH9 catalytic module was mixed with increasing amounts of the indicated helper module, and their respective activities were compared to that of the intact Cel9I (GH9-CBM3c-CBM3b, set as 100%).
