Long-term propranolol treatment inhibits proliferation and promotes death of hemangioblastoma cells. Time course of propranolol treatment. Hemangioblastoma cells were treated at different doses (50 μM and 100 μM) and for varying lengths of time (from 24 h to 96 h) with propranolol. Significant changes in morphology in treated cells were observed at 100 μM, while at 50 μM the cells exhibited the same morphology as the control cells but with characteristic nucleoli. After 96 h with 100 μM treatment, most cells had disappeared from the plate as a consequence of cell death by apoptosis (Magnification 40X)
