Four sensitivity measures of particular relevance in evolutionary impact assessment (EvoIA). The adaptability A_ij measures the sensitivity with which a change in the fishing parameter f_i alters the evolutionary rate of the quantitative trait q_j. The desirability D_jk measures the sensitivity with which a change in the quantitative trait q_j alters the utility component u_k (according to the chain rule, this is equivalent to the sensitivity with which a change in the evolutionary rate of the quantitative trait q_j alters the rate of change in the utility component u_k). The vulnerability V_ik measures the sensitivity with which a change in the fishing parameter f_i alters the rate of change in the utility component u_k. The evolutionary vulnerability measures the part of the vulnerability V_ik that is caused by FIE. EvoIAs can estimate the matrices A,D,V and V^evo.
