(B) Treatment of monkeys with a mixture of cream and chlipid nanocomplexes containing plasmid siRNA cocktail resulted in the reduction of viral titers in SHIV SF162 -infected monkeys. Viral RNA was isolated from 200 μl of the plasma (HighPure viral RNA kit, Roche). Isolated RNA was subjected to reverse transcription and PCR amplification of a region of gag, and the amplified product was quantified by anti-DIG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. All the samples were run in duplicate.
