Quantification of L. braziliensis in hamsters treated with MB/LED-PDT. 4×10 7 promastigotes of L. braziliensis was inoculated in the footpad of hamsters, and the animals were treated with MB/LED-PDT. Group MB-Id received methylene blue (MB) intradermally (n = 8), and group MB-Tp received MB topically (n = 9). After treatment for 12 weeks, the parasites were quantified in the lymph nodes and spleen. Group AmB was treated with amphotericin B (n = 8) and Control group was not treated (n = 9). The results are mean ± SEM. *P<.05 compared to the not treated group; # P <.05 compared to PDT MB-Id group.
