Hemodynamic changes induced by pacing study. Pigs received right atrial pacing (120 bpm) with continuous hemodynamic monitoring. End-diastolic pressure decreased in the control group but increased in the AoB group (P<0.001), suggesting the propensity of the latter to develop congestive heart failure. Although the parameters did not reach statistical significance, changes in dP/dtmax, dP/dtmin, and Tau were smaller in AoB pigs, suggesting limited functional reserve. *P<0.05.
