Figure 4. — Idiopathic osteonecrosis of the femoral head. The boundary region (white arrow) separated the necrotic region (inside, black arrow) and normal tissue (outside). The region has brownish colour on the gross specimen and was shown as high-density signal line on CT and as low-intensity signal band on MR T₁ weighted (T1W) and T₂ weighted (T2W) images. The necrotic region was shown as slightly low signal density on CT, and as mixed slightly low signal intensity on MR T1W and T2W images, with cystic change (black arrowhead) at the edge.
