Morphological defects in Usb1-deficient zebrafish. Lateral views of wild-type, MOsp (10 μg/μl) and MOaug (5 μg/μl) injected embryos at 25 and 50 hpf are shown. The morphants displayed a thin yolk extension (black solid line), reduced body length and a bent tail (black dotted curved line) at 25 hpf. The morphants also showed small eyes and pericardial edema (black triangle) at 50 hpf. The co-injection of usb1 mRNA with MOs nearly completely rescued these morphological abnormalities.
