Previous analysis carried out by Ibáñez et al.² focused on transcripts that are up-regulated in central nervous system (CNS) and down-regulated in cancer or vice versa (i.e., intersection between gene sets). Our study deals instead with sets of genes that are either up-regulated or down-regulated in cancer and CNS diseases (i.e., symmetric difference between gene sets).
