14 dpc male prostate explants were grown for 7 days in media containing androgen (10nM, dihydrotestosterone, DHT) and trichostatin A (100nM, TSA). (A) Following culture tissues were transplanted under the renal capsule of a syngeneic adult intact male host mouse and allowed to grow for an additional month. After one month (B) graft volume and (C) hematoxolin and eosin staining were performed. Quantification by QPCR of (D) smooth muscle actin (Acta2), (E) androgen receptor (Ar), (F) cytokeratin 14 (Krt14), (G) cytokeratin 8 (Krt8) and (H) probasin (Pbsn) in explant grafts.
