Effect of F3406 on virion infectivity. Viral samples (2 × 10⁵ FFU) were incubated in DMEM–2% FBS containing 2 or 10 μM F3406, or DMSO vehicle. After 30 min treatment at 37°C and 5% CO₂, viral samples were diluted and used to infect BHK-21 cells (MOI = 0.1). After 90 min of adsorption, the cells were washed once, and the transfection medium was replaced with DMEM–2% FBS without compound. At 20 h p.i., the cells were fixed and stained with specific antibodies to either LCMV NP or VSV N. The numbers within parentheses indicate the percentages of LCMV NP-positive cells in cells infected with rLCMV/WT. We did not observe significant differences in the numbers of VSV N-positive cells in cells infected with rVSV/WT treated with F3406 at the indicated concentrations.
