The 5′-capped p53-554 RNA was translated in RRL in the presence of 35S-methionine and relative amounts of translation products from initiation codons AUG1 and AUG2 were determined. Following normalization to the values with no cap analog added, they were displayed in the figure. The quantitative data presented in panels A and B were calculated based on at least three independent experiments.
