Cell load capacity and cellular viability within SDR matrices. (A) MTT assay on empty- and MSC-containing SDR matrix demonstrates specific formazan formation by cells (dark blue). (B) MSC were seeded in 0.13 cm² pieces of SDR matrix and cultured for 24 h to allow maximum spreading and adhesion of cells. Then, scaffolds with cells were incubated with MTT substrate to determine relative cellularity based on formazan blue formation.
