DC-autophagy contributes to cytokine production in cornea during HSK. Control atg5^fl/fl (n = 5) and CD11c-cre (n = 2) and atg5^fl/fl CD11c-cre (n = 7) female mice were challenged with 2 × 10⁶ PFU of HSV-1 (strain 17) unilaterally. Two or three corneas were pooled to make 3 samples per group, which were analyzed by multiplex protein assay. Cytokines were stratified as T cell cytokines (A), proinflammatory cytokines (B), chemokines (C), and growth factors (D). We found no detectable amounts of IL-3, IL-4, IL-5, and IL-7 in any of the corneas. Error bars represent standard errors of the means.
