In vivo models generated with critically sized defects in rat calvarias filled with α-TCP/CS material. (a) After four weeks, rats were administered interferon (IFN)-γ, and bone regeneration was compared with that occurring in no-drug-treated control rats and zoledronate (Zol)-injected rats; (b) Micro-computed tomography and bone-mineral density (BMD) images of rat calvarias defects.
