Dicer exon 24 excision resulted in impaired miRNA biogenesis in E18.5 FoxD1GC;Dicerfl/fl kidneys. (A) To evaluate the excision of Dicer exon 24, quantitative real-time PCR was carried out and revealed a significant decrease in Dicer exon 24, but not in exons 21 and 23 transcripts (= 6, ***< 0.001). (B) LNA SISH revealed reduced miR-17 expression within the FoxD1GC;Dicerfl/fl medullary interstitium (MI), thereby indicating impaired miRNA biogenesis as a consequence of loss of Dicer activity.
