Apoptosis in the soleus and plantaris muscles were determined by the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) assay. Soleus and plantaris muscles cross sections were immunoreacted with TUNEL-positive nuclei (red), DAPI (blue), Laminin (green) and a composite is depicted in Figure2A.
