(b) Confocal image of a Sim1-Ai32 muscle fibre longitudinal section labelled with DiI (top panel) or DHP calcium channels (bottom panel) to show all membrane-associated structures including T-tubules. DiI and DHP calcium channel staining both co-localize with the EYFP/ChR2 fusion protein, indicating that ChR2 is expressed in the sarcolemma and T-tubule network. Scale bars, 5 μm (a) and 10 μm (b).
