The expression of caspases in SSL-treated keratinocytes. (A) Cleaved caspase-3 and -7 expression in SSL-treated SKH1 wild-type or caspase-7 KO keratinocytes treated with increasing doses of SSL. (B) Cleaved caspase-3, -7 and -9 expression in SSL-treated SKH1 or caspase-7 KO keratinocytes over a time course. For dose-dependency, primary keratinocytes were treated with doses of SSL at 0, 1.28, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 or 48 kJ/m² and after 24h, cells were harvested and examined by western blotting. For time course assessment, primary keratinocytes were treated with SSL at 48 kJ/m² and harvested at 0, 0.5, 1, 3, 6, 12 or 24h and proteins were detected. Similar results were obtained from two independent experiments.
