The phase and amplitude of the far-field scattered pressure by a silica [(a) and (c)] and polystyrene [(b) and (d)] sphere, respectively, are shown as a function of kas for scattering angles θ of 0–180°. Pressure amplitude values are shown as decibel-scaled values relative to the maximum calculated pressure. The frequency-dependent wave measured across the surface of a PCD with f-number NPCD corresponds to scattering angles centered at θ=90°, the location of hydrophone measurements, and varying between cos1(±1/(2NPCD)).
