Hospitalization-Associated Disability by Age Group, N = 583

Hospitalization-associated disability is defined as any reported new impairment in ADL function at 30 days compared to pre-admission baseline (2 weeks prior) or death before 30 days.

Abbreviations: ADL activities of daily living, yo years old

P value for chi-square test for comparison among all age groups: p < 0.001

*There was a significant difference between the oldest age group, adults ≥ 80, and all other age groups (chi-square test p value < 0.001). The age group 70–79 was significantly different from the middle group, aged 65–69 (p = 0.042).
