BQSU, Brief Questionnaire of Smoking Urges. Nondrinkers reported no alcohol use in the 6 months prior to their enrollment in the study. All variables were compared across drinker subgroups using analysis of variance, with the exception of sex, race, and past alcohol dependence (chi-square).

Significant differences between subgroups (p < 0.05) are indicated by differing superscripts.

Values are mean (SD) unless otherwise indicated.
