Endplate topography measurements were successfully performed on two vertebral levels (T12, L1) from the same patient using clinical DTS images. Vertebral levels were selected so as to match in vitro levels and avoid implants at L3–L5. Images of T12 and L1 vertebrae were separated and thresholded (right) and depth distributions calculated using the same methods described for in vitro specimens. Measured parameters were well within the range of in vitro specimens (Table 4).
