Mean gray levels (GLs) are recorded from the internal reference (white rectangle, top of image) and from 8 circularly arranged segments (red). The segments are scaled to the distance between the temporal edge of the optic disc (white vertical line) and the center of the fovea (white cross). After accounting for the presence of large vessels, qAF values of the 8 segments are averaged to determine qAF8.
