Effects of SIVmac239 integrase substitutions on viral infectivity. The infectiousness of SIVmac239IN(WT), SIVmac239IN(E92Q), SIVmac239IN(T97A), and SIVmac239IN(R263K H51Y) was assessed by quantifying luciferase activity at 48 h postinfection in TZM-bl cells. Infectivity of WT and mutant viruses is represented by means ± SEM for each of three independent TZM-bl infectivity assays normalized against WT signal, which was arbitrarily set at 100%. Asterisks indicate statistically significant differences. Statistical significance was calculated for individual pairs of data using a one sample two-tailed t test with a statistical cutoff of P ≤ 0.05.
