The values of kcat were fit to the equation kcat = kcat,0 + (kcat,M − kcat,0)/{1 + (Km/[M])2}, where kcat,0 and kcat,M are the limiting values of kcat at 0 and infinite Mg2+ concentrations, respectively, and Km is the metal binding constant.
