Extracellular lactate had no effect on insulin signaling in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. 3T3-L1 adipocytes were incubated either with 25 mm l-lactate (sodium salt) or 25 mm NaCl in serum-free medium, followed by stimulation with or without 10 nm insulin for 20 min.
