Up-regulation of O-GlcNAcylation increases Akt1 phosphorylation.

Notes: The 8305C cells were treated with (A) 5 μM Thiamet-G (Thia-G) or (B) OGT overexpression for 24 hours. Cell lysates were prepared and used for Western blots for p-Akt1 (Ser473), Akt1, and GAPDH (loading control) with anti-p-Akt1 (Ser473), anti-Akt1, and anti-GAPDH antibodies. The blots of p-Akt1 were quantified by densitometry, and the results were expressed as a ratio relative to the values obtained in untreated control cells. Error bars represent the mean ± standard error of the mean of three independent experiments, **P<0.01.
