Postoperative changes after unilateral nipple-sparing mastectomy with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction resulting from nipple-areola ischemia. Serial pictures demonstrate skin demarcation within the native NAC above island of DIEP skin at 4 days; eschar at 14 days; tissue loss involving tip of nipple and inferior aspect of areola at 40 days; and 1 year later healed with slight discoloration of lower areola and loss of nipple height.
