The effect of the inhibition of ER stress on lipolysis in visceral white adipose tissue in RRM rats. ER stress markers and lipolysis were measured in visceral white adipose tissue in sham and RRM rats treated with or without an inhibitor of ER stress. The expression of ER stress markers was significantly increased in RRM rats (A1–A3). Treatment with PBA, an inhibitor of ER stress, inhibited the expression of these markers (A1–A3). The inhibition of ER stress led to a significant reduction in glycerol release from the fat pads (B) and primary adipocytes (C).
