Behavioral effects of antidepressants in mice acutely deprived of brain histamine (HA). (A) Schematic representation of the protocol used to evaluate saline, citalopram, or reboxetine effects on the tail suspension test (TST) in CD-1 mice before and after treatment with alpha-fluoromethylhistidine (α-FMHis). (B) Effects of treatment with citalopram and reboxetine on immobility before and after treatment with a-FMHis. Animals were divided into 7 groups run simultaneously. All data were collated. Saline, citalopram, or reboxetine was given i.p. 30 minutes before testing on day (D)1 and D8. On D7, mice received i.c.v. injections of saline or a-FMHis. Naive mice received no treatment.
