The percentage of people using social media is rising steadily. As of January 2014, 74 % of all online adults used social networking sites. For adults ages 18–29, 89 % used social networking sites; for adults ages 30–49, 82 %, and for adults ages 50–64, 65 %. Among adults ages 65+, 49 % used social networking sites.
