The Type III RM of ε-proteobacteria C. jejuni RM1221 (bold-faced) and C. jejuni 539 (ST-794; bold-faced), C. coli, C. upsaliensis JV21, Helicobacter acinonychis and Helicobacter bilis are included and related sequences of organisms are listed in Table S1. Amino acid sequences were aligned using MAFFT (http://mafft.cbrc.jp/alignment/server/index.html), last accessed 22/04/2015 and cleaned up using Gblocks⁵⁶. Maximum likelihood analysis was performed in MEGA6⁵⁴ as described in Materials and Methods.
