Effects of electroacupuncture on NF-200 and GFAP-positive cells in the injured rat spinal cord (immunofluorescence staining, × 200).

In the sham-operated group, neural fibers in the spinal cord tissue were densely arranged, while in the SCI group, the fibers were sparsely arranged. In the electroacupuncture group, fiber arrangement was substantially improved compared with the SCI group. Yellow arrows point to NF-200 or GFAP-positive fibers.
