Sample collection with honeycomb-like microdissection. The tumor tissues were embedded in optimal cutting temperature (OCT) compound and sliced into 1-mm-thick pieces. One 1-mm-thick slice was subjected to high-density microdissection, using the Harris Micropunch. In total, the slice yielded 286 microsections, including one in the middle of the slice (Z1), and 60–80 microsections in each of the four quadrants (A–D). All sample IDs were marked, indicating their position in the tumor. The 23 sequenced samples were marked by red circles.
