Treatment with the antioxidant Tempol ameliorates the impaired myocardial sonic hedgehog (Shh) pathway in type 1 diabetic mice. Western blot analysis of myocardial Shh and patched-1 (Ptc1) protein was performed at 7, 10, 14 and 18 weeks after streptozotocin injection (n=5).
