When live and dead bacteria were in close proximity or on the top of each other, the staining had yellow/orange colors. SBMP control was fully covered by primarily live bacteria. In contrast, (B), (C) and (D) showed noticeably less bacterial adhesion, and the biofilms consisted of primarily dead bacteria.
