Ectopic expression of S5a rescues UBE3A mutant inhibition of proteasome activity. p53 null H1299 cells were transfected with UBE3A, C833A, L502P, E550L and p53 (a, b, c and d), or Mdm2 (b and d) or S5a (c and d), alone or in combination. After 24 h, cells were collected, and residual p53 and UBE3A were detected by western blot analysis using either anti-UBE3A antibody or anti-p53 antibody.
